Circuit Judge David Audlin is originally from Syracuse, New York. He studied philosophy and history at Eisenhower College in Seneca Falls, N.Y., and graduated from the University of Southern California Law School in 1981. He was admitted to the State Bar of California in 1981, and practiced commercial litigation in Los Angeles through 1984. He was admitted to the State Bar of Florida in 1984 and served as an Assistant Public Defender (Key West), Assistant Attorney General, and Chief Assistant Statewide Prosecutor (Tallahassee). He returned to Key West in 1996, opened his own law firm and practiced law as a civil trial attorney, also serving as a certified circuit court mediator, and special magistrate through 2006. In 2006, he was elected without opposition to succeed Circuit Judge Richard G. Payne, and is presently hearing civil, probate, and family court cases in Key West and Marathon.
